During a meeting in Astana on October 23 with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Huang discussed expanding cooperation in AI and digital innovation, aligning with Kazakhstan’s ambitions to become an AI-driven nation.
During the discussions, President Tokayev identified artificial intelligence and digitalization as national priorities, with 2026 designated as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. He emphasized the importance of the partnership with NVIDIA and praised the collaboration with local technology company Higgsfield.
Huang highlighted Kazakhstan’s favorable conditions for AI development, citing its energy resources and a skilled workforce in science, mathematics, and technology as critical assets. He proposed the country as a center for physical AI, a field that integrates artificial intelligence with real-world systems such as robots, autonomous machines, and industrial equipment.
The meeting also underscored ongoing progress in NVIDIA’s cooperation with local technology businesses, which Huang described as the beginning of a long-term collaboration. This cooperation is seen as a significant step in reinforcing Kazakhstan’s position in the global AI landscape.
In recognition of his contributions to the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan, President Tokayev awarded Huang the Order of Dostyk. This award signifies Kazakhstan’s appreciation for international partnerships that foster technological advancement and innovation within the country.
